JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE:           

Inventory Clerk/Mechanic                                                                                                                                           

JOB REPORTS TO:            

Parts Department Manager                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        

PURPOSE OF JOB:           

The job is to perform duties including but not limited to stocking parts inventory, pulling inventory for jobs, and disassembling units to obtain necessary parts.

BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE:                                                                                                                                                                                  

This job requires a basic knowledge of several categories, they are as follows.                                                                                                                                                                                                                     

• Requires hands-on and working knowledge of the disassembly and assembly of rotating equipment
• Minimum 2 years of mechanical experience required
• Capable of some equipment repair and disassembly with continued training and guidance from supervisors
• Demonstrate the ability to learn to work with close tolerance equipment including all types of inspection equipment. Must have the ability to achieve and meet the timely and cost-effective methods of repair and assembly
• Strong organized work ethic required to work with direction of supervisors
• Requires continued development of mechanical problem-solving skills
• Understands job workflow and works to meet schedule demands
• Experience and ability to operate standard factory equipment
• Ability to complete documentation, take photos, and complete written reports
• Learning to understand and comply with regulations and processes set forth in the repair procedures
• Understands and supports the safety program and complies with the regulations

BASIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    

• Perform in shop mechanical repairs, upgrades and packaging of turbomachinery. Including disassembly, cleaning, inspection, damage analysis, modification and assembly
• Coordinate with supervisors and mechanics to ensure special requests are met
• Preparation and packaging of parts & equipment for safe shipments
• Organize and maintain a safe, efficient repair shop area
• Learning the use of precision measuring devices
